Basically, if the project is large enough that dipping and redipping your roller for paint will grow tiresome, then this little tool will be a lifesaver. They are very convenient for medium to large DIY projects. We have used these Wagner power rollers for years. Quick-Release Handle easily attaches rollers and accessories to the SideKick.

Since I had everything on a drop cloth I was able to just pull the cloth around and not have to worry about it.The SMART SideKick multi-room powered roller is ideal for large or multi-room projects. The clasp that holds the can in place is great but I would like to see it lock in a little more. If there was an improvement I would like to see it would be to have the device attach more to the paint can so that as I move around I can use the paint can handle to move the paint can while the SideKick was still attached. I would have liked to have had an extension pole with the button at the end so I could load the roller when working on high areas, but I was able to attach a standard extension and it worked just fine. Especially clean up since I was able to let it run and clean itself with soapy water while I cleaned up the rest of rooms. I am def going to use this for many projects in the future and will def do more in the near future b/c I can see how much faster the projects go. One wall that was about 400 square feet took only about 10 minutes to roll. We both loved how much faster the job went b/c I did not have to keep loading the roller in the tray. 
She did all the cutting in and taping while I used the roller. I used the SMART SideKick Roller to paint the bedroom and bathroom at my sister's house. Great product - simple but very useful concept! A real time saver! The only downside is that it take much longer to clean up than it does to set up but isn't that always the case? If you treat is properly and clean it well (I run 5 gallons of soapy water, then 5 gallons of clean water through), then it will last! That clean up process takes about 30 minutes, but I do it unattended by using 5 gallon buckets leaving me time to clean my brushes clean up trash and be confident that my Sidekick is going to be clean. Not needing to bend over and roll more paint, make sure it's even, and try not to drip back to the wall, is worth this truly inexpensive tool. I didn't particularly care that I lost about a quart of paint (out of 5 gallons). With 5 doorways and some high walls, I spent more time doing the cut-in (and significantly more with masking) than painting the walls. The apartment is above a detached garage and features vaulted ceilings (yes, the ceiling is tapered from 10ft to 13ft).
I just used this roller system to paint a small 500sq ft one-bedroom apartment.
